Bailing Out on Common Sense
October 15, 2018
One of my areas of interest is criminal justice reform. As a conservative, I am perplexed by the impulse of many would-be policy wonks on the right to join with the Left (ACLU, Brennan Center, etc.) in advocating positions that undermine public safety and, frankly, coddle criminals. The “Right on Crime” movement is, in most respect, a “soft on crime” agenda. We can thank the Koch brothers and like-minded libertarian donors (such as the Arnold Foundation) for that. In Law & Liberty, I took a look at the bail reform movement. Read it here.
Thanks to Real Clear Policy for the plug.
