Lawyers Have First Amendment Rights–Even John Eastman
SCOTUS must overturn Eastman’s disbarment to prevent a miscarriage of justice and to uphold the integrity of our legal system.
Thanks to Power Line and Ace of Spades HQ (here)!
I was on The Tom Woods Show recently to discuss the State of California’s disbarment of John Eastman (here). I was a bit jet-lagged after having taken a red-eye the prior day and crossed five time zones, but the podcast turned out okay. Thanks to Tom Woods for inviting me on! For background, interested viewers can check out my previous commentary about bar associations targeting conservative lawyers for discipline based on their political affiliations or the content of their speech. This is a grave violation of the First Amendment.
The prior commentary can be found here, here, here, here, and here.
As I explained to Tom Woods, I am not defending John Eastman because I am his brother-in-law, fraternity brother, college roommate, best man at his wedding (or vice versa), or close personal friend. I am none of those things. I am simply a lawyer who sees the lawfare against Eastman and other lawyers who represented President Trump as a threat to the rule of law.
